i did an exercise a few nights ago that was intended to compare my mother and father's abusive/victim behaviors with mine, and identify which behaviors i've inherited from them. by the end of the exercise, i was quite surprised by how things turned out.

i'm really struggling with the awareness exercises... part of me is criticizing them, part of me is being really impatient and wanting to speed up the whole healing process, and yet part of me is really worried about doing them right and EXACTLY right. but the bottom line is this: i would give anything, and i mean, absolutely ANYTHING to be healed. i want to give my Natural Child the reins, but my Controlling Child is still hesitant to give up her power...
